Hosting a dinner party can be a lot of fun, but it's also important to make sure you set a beautiful and inviting table for your guests. Using our handmade ceramic dishes is a great way to add elegance and sophistication to your dinner party. Here's how to set a table using ceramic dishes.
Start with a clean and tidy table
Before you start setting the table, make sure your dining table is clean and free from clutter. This will provide a blank canvas for your dinnerware and make the table look more polished and put together.
Choose your plates
Ceramic plates come in a wide range of styles and colors, so choose a set that suits your personal taste and the occasion. For a more formal dinner party, choose classic white or neutral-colored plates. For a more casual event, mix and match plates in different colors and patterns to create a playful and eclectic look. Our collection of handmade ceramics come in five different colors so you can choose the perfect color for any occasion.
Add flatware
Place the flatware on either side of the plates, with the forks on the left and the knives and spoons on the right. If you're serving multiple courses, set out the appropriate utensils for each course, with the utensils for the first course on the outside and the utensils for subsequent courses moving inward.
Set the glasses
Place the glasses above the knives and spoons, with the water glass closest to the plate and any additional glasses arranged to the right. If you're serving wine, place the wine glasses to the right of the water glass.
Add the napkins
Fold the napkins and place them on the plates, or place them to the left of the forks. You can also add a decorative napkin ring for an extra touch of elegance.
Decorate the table
Add a centerpiece to the table, such as a vase of flowers, a candle holder, or a bowl of fruit. You can also add decorative elements like place cards, a table runner, or decorative plates to add extra color and texture to the table. We suggest placing salt, pepper, and a bottle or two of our Joy Olive Oil around the table so guests can add the perfect finishing touch to their dish.
Finish with place settings
Place settings add a personal touch to the table and can make guests feel special. You can add place cards with the names of each guest, or you can add a small gift or token at each place setting.
By following these simple steps, you can set a beautiful table for your dinner party. Whether you're hosting a formal event or a casual get-together, our handmade ceramic dishes are a timeless and elegant choice that will add sophistication and charm to your dining experience.
