Summer Reads

What books are you reading this summer?

Reading is a really fun activity to do, especially during summer when you're hanging out at the beach, pool, on a road trip, or traveling. It’s a great way to pass the time during those long summer days. Here are a few of our summer book recommendations:

The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zatón

If you are into mystery or thriller, this is the book for you! This is a coming-of-age tale of a young boy who, through the magic of a single book, finds a purpose greater than himself and a hero in a man he's never met.

The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

This is a classic novel in which a boy named Santiago embarks on a journey seeking treasure in the Egyptian pyramids after having a recurring dream about it. On the way he meet mentors, falls in love, and most importantly, learns the true importance of who he is and how to improve himself and focus on what really matters in life. This is the perfect read if you are into adventure!

Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover

Honestly, any Colleen Hoover book is a great summer read, but Ugly Love is definitely a favorite! It’s a cute romance book about a nurse and pilot, that also gets a little deep as the story goes on. If you are in the mood for an emotional rollercoaster, this is the book for you!

Verity by Colleen Hoover

Again, Colleen Hoover never disappoints. This book is a little different from Hoover’s typical book, if you want a dark thriller with a crazy ending, this is the book for you. It will keep you on your toes until the very end!

Self Love Poetry by Melody Godfred

If you are more on the go and maybe don’t have as much time to read, a poetry book is a great option! This poetry book has a variety of uplifting poems for both feelers and thinkers. This is a great book to just get a quick boost of motivation!

My Policeman by Bethan Roberts

One of my favorite things to do is read a book and then watch the movie adaptation to see how well it was portrayed! The movie for My Policeman is coming out later this year and it’s starring Harry Styles. If you want to read the book before the movie hits theaters, be sure to pick this one up!

Here are just a few of the fun book ideas that will be great reads this summer. Remember: reading is supposed to be fun, so find a book that you enjoy and let's get reading!
