Homemade Hummus

Making hummus at home is easy and the flavor and texture are far superior to store-bought versions. 

Hummus is a popular Middle Eastern dip made from chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, and olive oil. It's a delicious and healthy snack that's perfect for dipping vegetables or pita bread. Making hummus at home is easy and the flavor and texture are far superior to store-bought versions. 

 

Ingredients:

1 can (15 oz) chickpeas, drained and rinsed

1/4 cup tahini

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons lemon juice

1/4 cup Olivo Amigo extra-virgin olive oil

1/4 teaspoon cumin

Salt and pepper to taste

Water, as needed

Instructions:

In a food processor or blender, combine the chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, cumin, salt, and pepper.

Blend the ingredients until smooth, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.

If the hummus is too thick, add water a tablespoon at a time until it reaches the desired consistency.

Taste the hummus and adjust the seasoning as needed.

Serve the hummus with a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of our Elevate Mediterranean Spices.
