Who doesn't enjoy avocado toast, whether it's your go-to breakfast or a mid-afternoon pick-me-up? Avocado toast is creamy, crunchy, and filling. It's a tasty and easy breakfast, snack, or light supper! The recipe provides 1 piece of basic avocado toast; multiply as needed.

Additional Toppings

  • Put an egg on it: For extra protein, I like to top my avocado toast with a fried egg. If you like, you may make a poached or scrambled egg.

  • Toss in some fresh herb leaves or your favorite herb sauce: Avocado tastes great with fresh basil, cilantro, dill, or parsley. A drizzle of pesto, olive oil , or chimichurri is also delicious. 

  • Extras include quick-pickled onions, radishes, or jalapenos, your favorite spicy sauce, and a topping of sliced tomatoes.

  • Garlic: Before adding the avocado, lightly brush a peeled raw garlic clove over the top of the bread, or incorporate a little teaspoon of garlic powder into the avocado.


  1. 1 slice of bread (I like whole-grain bread )

  2. ½ ripe avocado

  3. Pinch of salt

  4. Pinch of pepper

  5. Everything Bagel Seasoning 

  6. Crushed Red Pepper Flakes, Optional

  7. Vitality extra virgin olive oil

  8. Optional: Any toppings you desire


  1. In a small bowl, mash the avocado with a fork until chunky. Season with black pepper and fine salt.

  2. In a pan, toast the bread until it is browned and crisp. Brush the toasts lightly with olive oil. Spread the mashed avocado evenly across the bread and season with sea salt, black pepper, everything bagel seasoning, and red pepper flakes, if using.

  3. Serve as is or with any of the additional toppings listed in this post.
